Creating Memories that Bond Your Kids Together for Life

“I want to spend time with my sisters because they are the only people on Earth who know what it was like to grow up in my family.”

My sister-in-law mentioned this about 20 years ago to explain why she prioritized her sibling relationships even as an adult, and it shifted something in my heart as a young father.

I began to want to create unforgettable experiences that my kids would share.

When we craft a unique family culture, we’re creating stronger bonds between our kids as siblings.

One small example was that we played the same playlist when our kids were little every time we headed off on a road trip.

Last week, as we traveled between stops on our family summit, our now-older kids began to sing those songs. Each one knew the words, and it brought up similar memories of the many road trips they shared in their younger years.

Adding unique elements to traditions that only your kids will understand is one way to help them appreciate one another decades later.
