Did you know about 100 years ago this idea of “the home is the woman’s realm and the work is the man’s realm” would’ve been totally foreign to most? Now of course the wife could stay home and the husband could go to work, but home was seen more as the central nervous system or headquarters for the family operation. But today, we see many dads feel like guests in their own home, and feel more comfortable building a space or team or culture or bring a leader at work than they do once they walk in their front door. But the home is the first place we as dads are leaders and given any type of authority.

What would it look like dads to put your stamp on the home? To act as if it’s truly a place for you to graciously and lovingly reign and rule as well? Once dads realize they have permission to take ownership of the home as well, alongside their wife, they become a team where the home comes alive.
